IoIC: Communication-first approach to Microsoft 365 training
There’s plenty of Microsoft 365 training available, but most of it technically focused and assumes people have a decent knowledge of the suite before they start.
Sequel created an insight-led, communication-first approach to 365 training. As part of our long-term relationship with the Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC), we developed an online training course to help tackle the demand from IoIC members for practical, comms-focused training.
We’ve developed a robust set of common principles that any organisation can use to match the 365 tools to its own unique requirements. Building on this experience, we created a four-part course that helps delegates to think Insightbefore Technology.
Some of the topics covered in the course include:
- Understanding the different 365 tools and considering how they can help you as an individual, as a comms team, and as a business
- Creating a channel map to provide clarity around which tool to use for which task
- Building a stakeholder map
- Giving delegates the tools to have more productive conversations with their IT colleagues
- Starting a governance plan
- Planning your communications and training campaign, including a walk-through of one of our campaign playbooks.
By spreading the four sessions across two weeks, delegates could use the time between sessions to digest the content, speak to colleagues and complete some light homework.
We have now run more than 25 courses over the past five years. Attendees have given the course a 92% satisfaction rating with delegates including IC, HR and Change Communication teams in companies like Royal London, Lloyds Banking Group and Virgin Media Ireland.
